Full Review

Out of all of the machines tested as of the time of writing, the Bluevua ROPOT is one of the best. It comes highly recommended due to its ease of use and full feature set. While it is on the larger side for countertop machines, it has large filters and a higher pressure pump than many of the other options.

Since it uses a glass carafe as the clean water storage tank, water bottles are easy to fill quickly, and the carafe can even be placed in the fridge for cold water if that’s your thing.

One of the only gripes about this machine is it’s inability to know when the carafe is full. If the user has a full or half full carafe and then turns the machine on to make clean water, the carafe will overflow on the counter and spill everywhere. This isn’t a huge deal, but I would like to see the next iteration ship with a float switch so that the user can stop worrying about overfilling, and have clean water whenever they want it, not just after they pushed the button to start filling the carafe.

The machine has TDS sensors on both the input water and the clean water, so you can get a quick check to see how well the machine is working. Again, TDS isn’t the best measure of cleanliness in water, but it works great for a situation like this. While it does have filter life indicators, there is no sensor that can tell which individual filter is nearing the end of it’s life. The machine has a flow sensor, which is an upgrade from many other machines that simply use a timer attached to the pump. So overall the filter life indicators work great, but any variation in lifespan from one filter to the one next to it is not measurable with it’s current sensor arrangement.

In terms of 3rd party lab testing, this machine is one of the most heavily tested devices on the market. It has been tested by the WQA, SGS, PONY and TUV Rheinland against many NSF/ANSI standards. Click the test results link to download the full test results, including results from testing the materials in the machine itself. The Bluevua website also lists many tests: https://bluevua.com/pages/reports.

Overall, this is one of the best choices for countertop reverse osmosis, and is easy enough to use with minimal complaints from current users. While the standard machine has features like UV, it does not come standard with remineralization, however the company does sell a remineralizing lid for the carafe, available here: https://amzn.to/3S2Frng
